The study aimed to identify the obstacles of professional development of faculty members at Shaqra'a University. The researcher used the descriptive survey method. The study sample consisted of all 649 members of the academic faculty of Shaqra'a University. The questionnaire tool was applied. The researcher obtained (370) questionnaires representing (57%) of the total population of the study. The study resulted in a number of results, the most important of which are: 1) faculty members strongly agree on the existence of obstacles facing their professional development at Shaqra'a University in view of their professional roles, with an average of 3.91. 2) There are no statistically significant differences in the level of (0.05) among the average responses of the study sample according to the study variables: gender and years of experience. However, there are statistically significant differences with respect to the academic level variable. This is because the higher the academic level, the higher the professional development requirements of faculty members. (Published abstract)
